Nitrolime, also known as calcium cyanamide, is a kind of alkaline nitrogen fertilizer. In agricultural production, it can provide plants with sufficient nitrogen nutrition and kill harmful organisms. Because nitrolime will not cause any pollution to the environment, it is also the first choice for pollution-free agricultural products.
The action of nitrolime
1. Nitrolime can reduce the content of crispus in soil and vegetables. Nitrolime is a long-acting acid-free nitrogen fertilizer that reacts with water in soil to form calcium hydroxide and cyanamide, which is hydrolyzed to form urea and finally decomposed to ammonia for plant absorption. In alkaline soil, cyanamide can be further polymerization to form dicyandiamide, cyanamide and dicyandiamide can inhibit the soil nitrifying bacteria activity, prevent the conversion of ammonia nitrogen to nitrate nitrogen, thereby reducing the accumulation of nitrate in soil and vegetables. At the same time, the nitrogen in the nitrolime exists in the form of nitrate nitrogen for a long time in the soil, which is not easy to be lost, so it has the characteristics of high fertilizer efficiency and long duration
2. It can prevent a variety of vegetable pests and diseases. Cyanamide and dicyandiamide, the intermediate products of nitrolime decomposition, have the functions of disinfection, insecticide and disease prevention, and can control various soil-borne diseases and underground insect pests, especially fungal and nematode diseases
3. It can eliminate soil acidification and reduce some heavy metal pollution in the soil. Calcium oxide, the main component of nitrolime, can improve soil PH, eliminate soil acidification and reduce the solubility of heavy metals such as mercury, thus inhibiting the absorption of heavy metals by vegetable crops.
4. It improves the soil. The application of nitrolime can not only neutralize soil acidity, but also enhance soil microbial activity, decompose organic fertilizer into ammonia nitrogen and improve the utilization rate of potassium.
