Photography industry
Sodium thiosulfate anhydrous mainly serves as a fixer in the photography industry. Its core function is to dissolve unsensitized silver halide (AgBr/AgI) and fix the images on film or photo paper. In terms of application scenarios, with advantages such as high efficiency, stability, and no corrosiveness to the film substrate material, it can be used in traditional black-and-white film development, X-ray film development, printing and plate-making processes, etc.

The application of anhydrous sodium thiosulfate in the water treatment industry mainly serves to neutralize residual chlorine. Through an excellent mechanism of action, it reacts with free chlorine (Cl₂, HOCl) to form harmless chlorides and sulfates. Na₂S₂O₃ + 4Cl₂ + 5H₂O → 2NaHSO₄ + 8HCl. With the advantages of low cost, rapid reaction and no secondary pollution, it holds an important position in application industries such as municipal/industrial wastewater, aquaculture and laboratories.
